What Can You Expect From Renée Christina?

Interior design is an ongoing, evolutionary journey.  It thrives on collaboration, attentive listening, and clear communication. When clients ask me what sets my approach apart, I emphasize my belief that interior design is a deeply personal process—one that develops and transforms over time. The ultimate goal: creating simply beautiful spaces that resonate with your individuality.  Throughout every phase – before, during, and after your project – I prioritize promptness, courtesy, and service. No matter the size of your space, it’s important to me that your experience feels unique and tailored to you.

My Process Starts with You

All projects commence with a complimentary design consultation. This initial session serves to delineate the scope of work and establish the preliminary budget. We will discuss your objectives, lifestyle, personal preferences, and any sources of inspiration you may wish to share. Following this consultation, we will proceed with the subsequent phases of the process.

Our design development process focuses on translating your vision into detailed plans and concepts to move the project forward.

Ideas and concepts may include:

  • Floor Plans:  Layouts showing flooring and furniture arrangements, appliance and plumbing placements, and floor outlet locations based on furniture positioning.
  • Elevations: Visual representations illustrating cabinetry designs, fireplaces, tile work, and other architectural features.
  • Material Selections: Samples and recommendations for finishes and textures, including:
    • Cabinetry finishes and hardware
    • Flooring samples (hardwood, marble, porcelain, etc.)
    • Tile samples for backsplashes, showers, and accent areas
    • Paint, plaster, and wallpaper options
  • Renderings: A computer-generated image of a specific area to get a real-life visual so there are no surprises.
     

This comprehensive approach ensures clarity and coherence in your project’s design, facilitating smooth communication and execution.

For your new build or remodel project, comprehensive documentation is essential for your contractor or builder.

A detailed specification book that includes the following components will be provided.

  • Floor Covering Plan: A layout indicating the placement of all flooring materials throughout the project.
  • Lighting and Reflected Ceiling Plan: A detailed diagram showing lighting fixtures and ceiling designs, including reflected ceiling visuals.
  • Elevations: Drawings that depict vertical surfaces and architectural details of key areas.
  • Material Schedule: A list of all materials specified for the project, including types, colors, and finishes.
  • Appliance Schedule: A comprehensive list of appliances to be installed, including specifications and locations.
  • Plumbing Schedule: Details of plumbing fixtures and connections for each area.
  • Lighting Schedule: A list of lighting fixtures, types, wattages, and placement details.
  • Cabinetry Drawings: Custom cabinetry drawings provided by the workroom, detailing dimensions and design features.

Overall Project Management

You won’t need to manage the build — once the documents are submitted, we will oversee the project from start to finish, coordinating directly with your contractor and conducting weekly site walks to ensure flawless execution and on‑schedule progress.

Furnishings

I will select furniture, window coverings, area rugs, and accessory options and present them to you for your approval. A complementary specification book, detailing each item’s description and cost, will be provided as a reference tool for you.

Purchasing, Receiving, Storage, and Installation

Once you have approved any selections, we will procure the furniture, window treatments, rugs, and accessories on your behalf. We will coordinate with the receiving warehouse as items arrive, manage any damage claims or discrepancies, and schedule all deliveries and installations. On installation day we will be onsite with the installers to oversee placement and ensure everything is finished to our meticulous standards.
